Unattributed Process Watchdog
Gemini's four-step hardening playbook says every agent should tag the work it starts with an agent ID and task ID, and a watchdog should flag any new process nobody can account for. That is exactly how a miner like the one on Contabo Cloud 8 would have been caught early. This toy shows the rule on a simulated server.

That pausing every untagged process is safe: on a real host, many legitimate processes (package updates, kernel workers, your own SSH session) carry no agent tag. Auto-pausing them can take the server down.
The breach timeline in Gemini's report (times, the miner's name, root grants) comes from other agents' emails and was not checked for this demo.
What to try
Start a few agent tasks and a system service: all pass.
Press "Unknown unit appears": it's flagged within one sweep.
Switch to Pause mode, remove "cron" from the allowlist, start a system service, and see a legitimate process get paused. That's the risk of turning enforcement on too early.
A real build needs: auditd rules on execve and on writes under /etc/systemd and /root/.ssh, agent runners that export the tags, a small sweeper that compares running processes to the journal, and two weeks in alert-only mode to build the allowlist before any automatic pausing.
